Labor Day is a federal holiday in the United States that celebrates the economic and social achievements of American workers, and many get the day off to relax and enjoy their achievements. With summer coming to an end and Labor Day quickly approaching, we wanted to come up with a list of fun events and activities to celebrate the three-day weekend. If you’re looking for some ideas, we’ve gathered a few things you can do to make the most of Labor Day weekend!

Many states and cities celebrate differently with parades and festivals, depending on where you live, you could look up and attend a Labor Day  parade or music festival. This is a great way to get outdoors and enjoy the sunshine with great company, food, and music. Labor Day sometimes
brings a lot of traffic, so make sure you plan accordingly so you avoid sitting in your car for too long.
If you don’t want to leave to go to an event, bring the event to you! By hosting your own Labor Day party, you can have fun in the comforts of your own home. Have a barbecue and invite your friends and family. To make it less stressful you could have your guests bring dishes too. Put up red, white, and blue decorations, play music and set up games outside to make it more fun and festive!

Labor Day marks the start of football season! Wherever you are, it’s the best time to watch a football game whether it be high school, college, or a pro football team. To find a game near you, search online or in the local newspaper. If you’d rather stay in and relax, throw a get-together
with some close friends and family to watch a game on TV. Set out snacks and drinks to make watching the game at home more exciting!

If you enjoy being outdoors and love the sunshine, Labor Day is one of the last days of hot summer weather. Take advantage of the great weather and go to a local pool or a beach near you. If you have kids, pack sunscreen, water toys, and goggles to enjoy fun in the sun!  Not close to a a pool or a beach?  Easily set up a slip n slide or a blow-up pool in your backyard, or you could even try playing in a sprinkler. When water is involved, it is always be a good time.

If you aren’t one who enjoys being outside in the sun, but you also don’t want to sit inside the house all day, try checking out your local stores! Many stores offer special Labor Day deals, as it is one of the biggest sales days of the year. If you’re looking for new furniture, or want to liven
up your wardrobe, now is the perfect time to do it and get it all at a great price. Find your favorite stores and take advantage of the bargain sales, you could even find great deals online if you prefer that to in-store shopping!
