Top 10 Ways to Feel Cozy this Fall

6

As Autumn has officially begun, it’s a beautiful time of year to relax and enjoy your time with loved ones. Here are our top 10 ways to feel cozy this fall.

Host a Game Night

Hanging out with friends can add up quickly if you go out, but having a potluck and game night where you play board games at your house can be a fun evening! A friendly reminder to choose your board games wisely if you want to remain friends.

Create Fall Memories

What is in your local area that only happens in the fall? Maybe it’s a Holiday Craft Fair, concert series, or festival? Look ahead in your city calendar to see what’s happening near you to enjoy this festive season!

Head on a Nature Stroll

Walking in the forest as the leaves change colors is magical—Google local forests, paths, and hikes around you. You might be surprised by what is near you. Being in nature can also remind you to breathe, slow down, and be present where you are.

Stir up some Homemade Soup

Do you have a soup recipe from a family member you used to love? Perhaps it’s Pumpkin soup, or you’ve always wanted to try an Acorn Squash soup? Grab a pre-made pouch and throw in a bunch of chopped-up vegetables for an easy, healthy dinner that warms your soul and stomach.

Cuddle into Soft Blankets

Even if it’s not cold outside, you can create a cozy atmosphere inside your home by laying out soft blankets and warm tones in your decor. Adding a few fluffy pillows and a comfy blanket to your living room creates an inviting ambiance full of texture. (No hibernation necessary).

Enjoy Warm Beverages

Nothing says fall vibes like cozying up with a good cup of something warm and delicious. Indulging in a mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows, apple cider, or peppermint tea in the evening is the perfect way to end the day.

Put on the Sweaters and Scarves

Switching out your wardrobe lets you embrace total coziness with oversized scarves, boots, soft sweaters worn over many winters, and themed fluffy socks. If you are in warmer temperatures, reach for your favorite t-shirt or clothes that make you sigh with contentment.

Relax Your Pace

Summer is usually packed with activities, especially when the kids are out of school, but this month is a great time to slow down and pay attention to the moments around you. See what you can say “No” to this season to cherish those you are close with and be more present.

Set out a Simmer Pot

Scents are perfect to set the mood in Autumn. A simmer pot is a quick and easy way to fill your home with the smells of holiday joy. Set out the crock pot, add water to the top along with cinnamon sticks, cloves, oranges, and set to low to enjoy for 6-8 hours.

Reading

Books allow you to curl up, share stories, escape into a fantasy world, or learn new things. Libraries are free to rent from and now have audiobooks and ebooks that you can borrow in addition to paper books and magazines.
