Fall Movie Nights

Adults Only

Movie: When hosting an adult only movie night- theme is key! Pick a movie that everyone can enjoy and run with it. Are you trying to create a spooky mood? or stick with a chick flick? Once you have the movie picked out, you’ll be able to figure out the rest.

PCS Mentor Brittany’s movie pick: Practical Magic

Treats: To create a spooky fun vibe that goes with our movie selection, I would create a charcuterie tray with on theme snacks. Add some Halloween candy, skeleton hands, or even some creepy bugs to the tray for more decoration.

Drinks: The perfect drink to go with this spooky movie night would be the “Witch’s Brew”. This is an alcoholic drink that requires minimal ingredients yet still presents itself as being fancy! Just grab a cauldron at the dollar store to make this drink look even better!

Ingredients:

1 package of red gelatin 1 2-liter ginger ale
2 cups boiling water 2 cups vodka (optional)
3 cups cold pineapple juice 1 block of dry ice

Directions:

Stir boiling water and gelatin mix in large bowl until completely dissolved. Next, stir in the pineapple juice. You can then prepare to put the block of dry ice in the bottom of your display cauldron. Cover the dry ice with a small amount of water. Once that’s in, you can put your punch bowl inside of the cauldron and the dry ice will begin to smoke!

Family Friendly

Movie: Picking a movie for a family friendly movie night is so important to keep the kids and parents entertained. You’ll want to stick with “feel good movies”
PCS Mentor Brittany’s movie pick: Casper The Friendly Ghost

Treats: S’More Ghost Marshmallows- the sweetest little treat to give your guests while they watch their ghostly movie! With just a few ingredients you’ll have a cute, flavorful ghost in your hands.

Ingredients:

1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips
Graham cracker crumbs
Pretzel sticks
Jumbo marshmallows

Directions:

Melt down the chocolate chips in the microwave for about 1 minute (be very careful not to burn the chocolate). Set a few chocolate chips aside for the eyes for later. Use your pretzel sticks to poke into the marshmallows and dip just the bottom of the marshmallow into the chocolate. You can then dip/roll the chocolate covered area in crushed graham cracker crumbs. Let them sit in the fridge for about 15-20 mins. Finally, let the kids enjoy these fun handheld treats while lounging in their nugget fort!
