Fourth of July Picnic Ideas

Planning a 4th of July party? or even needing something quick to bring to a friends house? Below, you’ll find delicious recipes for simple, fun, and patriotic dishes that will WOW all your guests- especially if you’re trying to think outside the “norm” of potato salad and hot dogs! From prep time to easy transportation, these ideas have passed all our tests for quick and easy. 

 

Watermelon Feta Flag Salad 

What’s better than fresh watermelon on a hot summer day?? This dish is the perfect all American side to serve at a picnic. Super easy to prep the night before and it offers a healthier option for guests as well. Lay some fresh mixed greens on a platter and top with cubed watermelon, feta and blueberries! 

Strawberry Corn Salsa 

This fun side has all the bright summer colors to add to a backyard BBQ! This dip is easy to throw together and even transport in the car. Your guests will love to scoop this fresh dip up with some salty tortilla chips! 

2 cups strawberries. 3 TBSP fresh cilantro 

2 cups grape tomatoes cup olive oil 

1 can of corn 2 TBSP raspberry vinegar 

2 chopped green onion 2 TBSP lime juice

Patriotic Charcuterie Board 

Who doesn’t love a good charcuterie board at a party?? The great part about it is, you can get as creative as you want. Grab some strawberries, blueberries and raspberries and a few assorted meats and cheeses. Using these items you can start to arrange things however you’d like- you could even get a star shaped cookie cutter to cut cheeses or salami to make it more festive. Chocolate covered pretzels and red and blue M&M’s are a great addition to the board as well!
