Beaded Shamrocks

Making beaded shamrocks gives your child the opportunity to not only be creative with colors and patterns, but it will also help with fine motor skills. Beaded shamrocks can be fun for kids of all ages! For younger kids, allow them to place the beads on the pipe cleaners, leaving the twisting and bending to you. Older children can use this opportunity to be more independent on how they want their shamrocks to look by doing all the steps themselves. This mess-free craft can be done for any holiday as well (heart for Valentine’s Day, snowflake for Christmas, etc.).

Supplies

• Green pipe cleaners
• Colorful pony beads

How to make Beaded Shamrocks

1. Twist 2 pipe cleaners together but keep them in a straight line
2. Add beads (but not too many)
3. Fold pipe cleaner in half
4. At the end of the folder pipe cleaner, make a heart shape
5. Twist the pipe cleaner under the heart so it holds the shape better
6. Fold remaining edges up and twist them all together in the middle where they meet
7. Push the other 2 pipe cleaner loops into heart shapes and add another pipe cleaner to create the stem of the shamrock.

If you’d like to make a larger beaded shamrock, you can use 3 pipe cleaners and make 3 separate hearts. Then twist them together using a 4th pipe cleaner as the stem.

Fork Leprechaun Faces

This is a fun art craft for older kids who enjoy painting and cutting out shapes! By allowing them to create the details on the leprechaun, they’re able to be more creative and express themselves.

Supplies

• Fork
• Orange Paint
• Crayons
• Colored construction paper
• Glue
• Googly eyes

How to make Fork Leprechaun Faces

1. Draw outline of the leprechauns face with crayons
2. Dip the fork in orange paint and make long strokes along the bottom of the face to make the beard (shorter strokes for closer to the ears)
3. Draw the rest of the face and ears. Tilt the fork on its side to make the eyebrows.
4. Use glue to add googly eyes to the leprechaun
5. Cut out the shapes needed to make the hat and buckle using your colored construction paper
