Why Movie Night?

Covid, what?! This has been a year for the books! Gatherings are no longer considered safe and the isolation is real! Milhousing Network created a virtual movie night to try and bring people together in the comfort of their own environment safely. In March 2020, we created a virtual movie night to try and create a sense of normalcy in a very unusually time in everyone’s lives. Morale has been low, people miss social interaction and honestly, crave it. When it comes to movie nights, we have that!

Movie Night Giveaways

Movie night is a place to have fun and connect with people all over! Leading up to the “big event”, we do tons of giveaways like custom themed t-shirts, cups designed towards the movie that we will be watching, cute charcuterie boards also theme-specific etc. We did a large giveaway this round that included a wine tumbler, caramel candies, corncob popcorn and a few other really nice things! Our sponsors also did some of their own giveaways like a date night on them for a lucky family! Who does not love free stuff, especially while having a great time!

Milhousing Network has found sponsors, so we are able to give back to our families that want to participate! About a month before each movie, we assemble roughly 250 movie night boxes that contain popcorn, a cute postcard/menu/recipe, tons of treats and other random fun goodies that are geared towards the current movie showing! For this past movie night in October, we chose Hocus Pocus! We filled the boxes with Halloween candy, little cauldrons and witch hats, little spooky popcorn boxes and even had a Hocus Pocus mixed drink recipe inside! We ship these out after opening a sign-up where our members can fill out their information to get one! Our families participated in a costume contest this round! We always try to do a fun contest! The June movie, we made carboard box cars, what a blast for the littles!!

Our sponsors went above and beyond doing their own little live videos like making the mixed drink, a really yummy pumpkin hot chocolate, making the cutest spider cookies and even the infamous Lindsey Litton made an appearance creating this awesome charcuterie board! They are extremely active and have loads of fun activities in their bag!

During the Virtual Movie Night

During the movie watching event, we unload so many more opportunities to win prizes! Movie trivia has been a huge hit! We always create an interactive environment so we all can be “together” and enjoy the movie and snacks! The amount of excitement that we have seen towards movie night has been so fulfilling! It takes a lot of planning and preparation but seeing our members happiness and gratitude makes it all worth it! Our little Movie Night busybodies are already planning the January movie night! You do not want to miss out!
