For our next Home Hunter Spotlight, I got to catch up with Chelsea Burbick. Chelsea has been a military spouse for 8 years and has rocked 3 PCS moves. She’s moved from Charleston, SC to Saratoga Springs, NY to Norfolk, VA, and now back to Saratoga Springs where she currently lives with her family: her husband, daughter (5), son(2), and their Great Dane. They love to check out local festivals and travel. Their most recent family trip was to Disney World. Chelsea and her husband have also traveled to Costa Rica and Ireland. She hasn’t been a Home Hunter long, but in the short time she’s been doing it, it has helped her build confidence. She’s so happy to be able to help others in the home buying or selling process.
My favorite thing about being a military spouse is getting to have a connection with the military. I wholeheartedly believe that America is the greatest nation in the world. I love that my husband is a small part of what shapes our military and our freedoms.
I have two small children so in recent years my job hunt has taken a back burner. We are fortunate that I can stay home and still financially be good. I am certified to be a teacher and while I probably could find a teaching position, my heart is with my children.
My favorite part about working as a Home Hunter is the women I’ve met. They are all so very sweet and encouraging! It’s really helped me come out of my shell.
My typical day, I get up with my kids. (Usually between 530-6…early, I know.) While they play, I search my Facebook pages for any potential leads. We eat breakfast and go to the Y. I run a few miles. Then we come home and play until lunchtime. After lunch, the kids take naps. I usually do another search on Facebook. When the kids wake up, we play outside or do some sort of craft/learning project or run any errands. Then we have dinner, bath and bedtime routine. After they are in the bed, I do one final check in on Facebook and follow up with any potential leads. Then I catch up on any shows or reading I want to do and go to bed as well! Rinse, repeat.
