January 24, 2019This week, Lindsey Litton sits down with 2018 AFI Pentagon Military Spouse of the Year and Co-Founder of Operation Deploy Your Dress, Yvonne Coombes. Through her years as a milspouse, Yvonne recognized two needs among her community: a resource for milspouses who don’t have the means to get formal dresses for military events, and milspouses who no longer have use for their formal dresses. Yvonne and four fellow milspouses decided to organize a dress swap.
Starting out of Fort Bliss, Operation Deploy Your Dress has expanded to bases across the country, bringing together volunteers and spouses to help their community. Yvonne is hoping their mission will spread to even more bases, bringing milspouses together for a great cause.
