Spring is almost here! But that means it might be time to dust off the cobwebs from winter.  If you’re in that position.  We’ve put together a list of a few essentials to get you started on your spring cleaning checklist.

  • Dust crown molding and baseboards
  • Dust/wash light fixtures, ceiling fans, lamps
  • Wash doors
  • Wash walls
  • Vacuum or wash window curtains
  • Wash window blinds
  • Clean windows
  • Dust bookcases
  • Wipe down and vacuum furniture (clean the base and under cushions)
  • Deep clean floors
  • Remove rugs to shake out, then vacuum, then clean under them
  • Vacuum all flooring, including corners and edges
  • Clean air vents
  • Change air/furnace filter
  • Replace batteries in smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector
  • Remove anything from the kitchen that doesn’t belong
  • Clean and disinfect the trash can
  • Clean the microwave
  • Deep clean the dishwasher
  • Clean and organize the refrigerator
  • Clean the oven
  • Clean the hood vent and change filter if needed
  • Clean stove top burners
  • Clean and disinfect the garbage disposal
  • Clean and reorganize kitchen cabinets and drawers
  • Organize the pantry
  • Sanitize cutting boards and sharpen knives
  • Clean and disinfect small appliances
  • Clean and disinfect high chairs
  • Clean under the sink and eliminate the unnecessary
  • Determine if you need new kitchen supplies
  • Clean and disinfect light switches and outlets
  • Clean and disinfect toothbrush holders
  • Clean and refill soap dish and/or pump
  • Clean shower curtain and liner
  • Polish faucets
  • Scrub and disinfect toilet, including around base, under seat and around hinges
  • Scrub the bathtub and/or shower
  • Tighten toilet seat hinges
  • Clean bathroom exhaust fan
  • Clean shower head
  • Caulk around bathtub
  • Re-seal tile and grout
  • Unclog drains
  • Clean dryer vent
  • Clean inside washing machine
  • Organize electronics and accessories
  • Organize your closet
  • Switch seasonal clothing and donate unneeded
  • Clean and organize your dresser and nightstand
  • Flip and rotate your mattress
  • Clean under your bed
  • Clean windows and window sills
  • Sort and categorize kid toys
  • Clean and scrub toys
  • Clean out files and shred unneeded documents
